Your Only Limit is You!
Your onliy limit is you Rachit Kushwaha

Indecision, self-doubt, lack of confidence, or motivation are all byproducts of our inner villain. Even though sometimes, you are fully capable of achieving something efficiently, but your negative inner thoughts create unnecessary obstacles that keep you away from making it.

I have talked a lot in my previous posts when you are an immigrant, how important it is to have a positive and growth mindset. Having the right mindset is the most important thing to excel in your career, life or relationships.

However, I know, even though we are conscious of these facts. There comes a time when negative thoughts take over, and everything seems to fall apart.

– Feels like you are never going to get that dream job.

– Is this the right guy/girl for me? Is he/she going to commit to a long term relationship?

– Having PR in this country is next to impossible.

– Will I ever be able to buy that house?

Accept it or not; we all have felt this way at some point in our life.

So how do we overcome these emotions/negative thoughts? Lately, I have been reading a lot on this topic and practicing different things that can help me to get away from my inner villain.

Here are my top five suggestions to overcome your negative thoughts.

Journaling (Be Grateful): Complaining is a pretty common thing.” It’s hard.”” I don’t want to.”” I’m tired.” You can easily put it in time out by shifting your perspective. Every night (or at least 3-4 days a week), I write in a diary about the things I am grateful for in my life. The things that make me happy and I appreciate all the things I have. By doing this, I instantly feel good about myself and feel like to push myself to higher limits.

Listen to positive things before sleeping: According to Dr. Bruce Lipton, every night 5 minutes before sleeping you have a chance to reprogram your subconscious mind. If you think about all the negative things happening in your life, You are programming your subconscious mind to feel and behave negatively the next day. I have recently started watching motivational & inspiring videos before sleeping. (You can watch something else that you enjoy). And you won’t believe how amazing and energetic I feel the next morning.

Take a moment to yourself when you wake up: Yes, take a moment to yourself, when I am leaving the house to go to the office. I thank God and take a quick moment to think about the things I have achieved, built and gained. And all the other things I can do to inspire/help others. I have also put some posters and other things that I have achieved in my bedroom.

Don’t assume: This used to be the biggest problem in my life, Assuming things that are never going to happen and restrict myself from achieving greatness. This is something I overcame by doing/testing even though my brain is saying 1000 negative things. That is one of the reasons I started.”Behind the Dreams” show so people who would assume a lot of things without any detailed research could hear from the big shots in the industry and learn from their story.

Trust yourself: Nobody is perfect. You don’t have to be perfect. Do things that you like and trust yourself – the best way to achieve this by making mistakes and learning from them. Once you have reached that level of trusting yourself, your negative thoughts are gone forever.

Surround yourself with the right people: Surround yourself with the people who are on the same mission as you. People who can support you when you are having thoughts like that. Someone who will push you to work harder and keep you a level headed. If you are looking to meet like-minded people, I would suggest you should come to our Indian Auckland Meetup. It’s a great place to meet like-minded people and share your stories, play games and celebrate who we are.
